چکیده
Since its founding, NASA has been dedicated to the advancement of aeronautics and space science. The NASA Scientiic and Technical Information STI Program OOce plays a key part in helping NASA maintain this important role. The NASA STI Program OOce is operated by Langley Research Center, the lead center for NASA's scientiic and technical information. The NASA STI Program OOce provides access to the NASA STI Database, the largest collection of aeronautical and space science STI in the world. The Program OOce is also NASA's institutional mechanism for disseminating the results of its research and development activities. These results are published by NASA in the NASA STI Report Series, which includes the following report types: TECHNICAL PUBLICATION. Reports of completed research or a major signiicant phase of research that present the results of NASA programs and include extensive data or theoretical analysis. Includes compilations of signiicant scientiic and technical data and information deemed to be of continuing reference value. NASA counterpart of peer-reviewed formal professional papers, but having less stringent limitations on manuscript length and extent of graphic presentations. TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM. Scientiic and technical ndings that are preliminary or of specialized interest, e.g., quick release reports, working papers, and bibliographies that contain minimal annotation. Does not contain extensive analysis. CONTRACTOR REPORT. Scientiic and technical ndings by NASA-sponsored contractors and grantees. CONFERENCE PUBLICATION. Collected papers from scientiic and technical conferences, symposia, seminars, or other meetings sponsored or cosponsored by NASA. SPECIAL PUBLICATION. Scientiic, technical, or historical information from NASA programs, projects, and missions, often concerned with subjects having substantial public interest. TECHNICAL TRANSLATION. English-language translations of foreign scientiic and technical material pertinent t o NASA's mission. Specialized services that help round out the STI Program OOce's diverse ooerings include creating custom thesauri, building customized databases, organizing and publishing research results.. . e v en providing videos. Summary This report documents the results of a computational study conducted on the Orbital Sciences X-34 conngu-ration. The purpose of this study was to compute the inviscid aerodynamic characteristics of the X-34 wing taking into account its structural exibility. This was a joint exercise conducted with Structural Dynamics Research Corporation SDRC of California, who provided the wing structural deformations for a given pressure distribution on the wing surfaces. This study was done for a Mach n umber of 1.35 and an angle of attack of 9 deg.; the freestream dynamic pressure was assumed to be …

Loading Estimation of Flapping Wings under Aeroelastic Effect Using Finite Element Method
The aim of this paper is to provide an aeroelastic computational tool which determines the induced wing loads during flapping flight. For this purpose, a Finite Element (FE) code based on a four-node plate bending element formulation is developed to simulate the aeroelastic behavior of flapping wings in low incompressible flow. A quasi-steady aerodynamic model is incorporated into the aeroelast...
متن کاملThe Effects of Aeroelastic Deformation on the Unaugmented Stopped-Rotor Dynamics of an X-Wing Aircraft
A new design concept in the development of vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with high forward flight speed capability is that of the X-Wing. The X-Wing is a stiff, bearingless helicopter rotor system which can be stopped in flight and the blades used as two forward-swept wings and two aft-swept wings. Because of the unusual configuration in the fixed-wing mode, there is a high potential fo...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Centre Manifold Method for Limit Cycle Calculations of a Nonlinear Structural Wing
In this study the centre manifold is applied for reduction and limit cycle calculation of a highly nonlinear structural aeroelastic wing. The limit cycle is arisen from structural nonlinearity due to the large deflection of the wing. Results obtained by different orders of centre manifolds are compared with those obtained by time marching method (fourth-order Runge-Kutta method). These comparis...
متن کاملStatic Aeroelastic and Longitudinal Trim Model of Flexible Wing Aircraft Using Finite-Element Vortex-Lattice Coupled Solution
This paper presents a static aeroelastic model and longitudinal trim model for the analysis of a flexible wing transport aircraft. The static aeroelastic model is built using a structural model based on finite-element modeling and coupled to an aerodynamic model that uses vortex-lattice solution. An automatic geometry generation tool is used to close the loop between the structural and aerodyna...
متن کاملStatic and Dynamic Aeroelastic Analysis of a High Aspect Ratio Wing through CFD-CSD Coupled Method
The Solar powered unmanned aircraft have a high-aspect-ratio wings because SPUAV must satisfy the requirement of long endurance and high lift-drag ratio. Therefore, the structure of SPUAV‘s wings are structurally very flexible. The very high flexible wing might have large deformation and many aeroelastic problems. In this paper have a static/dynamic aeroelastic analysis through CFD-CSD coupled ...
